Certification

Spiezia Organics products are all certified by the Soil Association.  Back in 1999 there were limited standards available for certifying organic skin care products. Spiezia actually helped dertermine the standards with the Soil Association, so you could say that we were pioneers of orgainc skin care!

To this day, all of Spiezia's products are still certified by the Soil Association, and while the standards have evolved over the years, Spiezia is still committed to producing products using 100% Organic ingredients and using sustainable packaging.

Unlike food, there are no legal standards in place to claim whether your organic skin care product is truly organic. In fact did you know that as long as you have even just 1% of organic ingredients in your skin care or beauty product that you can call it organic? Even if the product is filled with potentially harmful chemicals such as SLS and Parabens, as long as it contains this small organic amount then it can be labeled as organic.

We believe that this is incredibly misleading for customers and when we share this information with people at events they are often shocked to hear this fact.

This is why buying products that have been certified by an accreditation body is so important. Buying organic skin care products that have been certified by the Soil Association will guarantee you truly organic products, and in our case 100% Organic (our Floral Skin Toner, Soaps, and Room Sprays while made with 100% Organic ingredients, cannot be classed as 100% Organic by the Soil Assocation because they contains water).

In addition to using 100% Organic ingredients, sourced from suppliers who have been accredited and inspected by the Soil Association, there's a few other things that we have to do to ensure we retain our 100% Organic Soil Association accreditation.

Each yeaar we have an inspection to check our organic ingredients, production area, and full traceability from each products we make right back to the individual source of the ingredients used in the product. A lot of work goes into making sure we have complete traceability with our products and ingredients which helps us provide you with exceptional quality products.

The ingredients must be non GM (Genetically Modified) so in the instance that we can't find an certain organic ingredient, any non-organic alternative must be non GM.

Any additives, preservatives are strictly limited. Fortunately, because the Spiezia Organics range is oil based, they tend to presevere themselves rather well!

So these are just some of the reasons why we have chosen the Soil Association as the certification body for the full Spiezia range.
